Cavan County Local Development, in partnership with Jump-A-Grade, is making available to all Leaving Cert students in Co. Cavan an online on demand masterclass series of video tutorials for English; Maths; Irish; French; Chemistry and Biology.

The videos are organised by each curriculum topic of each subject and cover a tutorial; the kind of questions that will come up in exams and what you are required to know for each topic. These banks of video masterclasses can help with revision across all of these subjects. The PDFs for each subject contain links to every video tutorial, broken down by topic, with videos covering the whole curriculum to help students study.

Cavan County Local Development, as part of its Social Inclusion Programme SICAP identified that a significant number of Leaving Cert students in Co. Cavan experience educational disadvantage due to not being able to afford additional tuition, commonly known as ‘grinds’.

There is a direct link between additional tuition and increased grades and points and we are working to improve life chances and opportunities for students.

Our digital content was developed through a once-off, project-specific funding initiative, providing hundreds of high-quality video resources in English, Irish, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and French. While this funding did not provide for continuous content development as prescribed texts change each year, the majority of the content remains relevant across curriculum cycles. The English masterclasses cover all of the English curriculum, including poetry, comprehension, composition and exam strategy, meaning that even if a students' specific texts are not covered, there are still plenty of valuable resources for them to engage with.

To receive the access links for all subject listed above, please email sholland@ccld.ie (email requests only please)

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027.

Tá an Clár um Chuimsiú Sóisialta agus Gníomhachtú Pobail (SICAP) cómhaoinithe ag Rialtas na hÉireann, tríd an Roinn Forbartha Tuaithe agus Pobail agus Gaeltachta, agus Ciste Sóisialta na hEorpa Plus faoin gClár Fostaíochta, Cuimsiú, Scileanna agus Oiliúna (EIST) 2021 -2027.
