Targeted Call 2025
Call for communities, SME’s or private individuals to engage consultants/experts to undertake analysis and development research (prepare feasibility studies, climate action plans) to assist them to prepare proposals for climate-based mitigation or adaptation actions.
Targeted Call is Open from 4 Sept to 6 October 2025.
Budget for Call
Total Budget: €150,000.
Maximum Level of Funding of Up to €15,000 per project.
Maximum Rates of grant aid:
90% for community applicants.
75% for private sector/SME applicants.
Minimum Level of Funding: €5,000.00.
Call for Expressions of Interest
If you have a project idea (see sample project types below), the first step is the submission of a FULLY completed 'Expression of Interest' (EOI) form. The completed EOI form, should be emailed to leader@ccld.ie before 3.00p.m. on Monday 6 October 2025. EOI form's can be downloaded on our Apply for LEADER funding page.

Strategic Action 3.2.1 Training and capacity building to increase the knowledge, skills and capacity regarding climate change
Key dates for Targeted Call
Submit Expression of Interest (EOI) form: 4 Sept to 3.00p.m. 6 Oct 2025.
All submitted EOI's will undergo an eligibility review.
Eligible EOI applicants will receive a LEADER application pack & will be invited to complete the LEADER application form after a application support workshop on 6 Nov 2025.
Application Closing: 3:00 p.m. on 27 January 2026.
LAG Committee Final Decision Announcement: 25 March 2026.
Typical project types welcomed under this call:
• Studies to examine the feasibility for the development of green resources with a community e.g. community energy initiatives including solar farms, wind, hydro and/or installing e-car charging points etc.
• Feasibility studies to assist new green sustainable start up enterprises (SME’s, Farmers & Social Enterprises).
• Develop a strategy to support community initiatives that encourage people to grow their own food, community gardens and allotments.
• Support climate action or environmental networks to prepare plans/strategies to manage their resources and develop a road-map (5 year) to assist them to implement focused strategic actions to address climate change in County Cavan.
The list of possible project types above is not exhaustive and is designed to assist applicants prepare for investment in projects adopting green technologies or systems which lessen or prevent climate change.
