As part of Local Development Week 2025, Ukrainian teachers Yuliia and Luda brought a burst of color, culture, and creativity to the Johnston Library in Cavan with a wonderful series of Multicultural Arts and Crafts Workshops for children.
Held once a month, these free workshops welcomed children aged 6 to 12 from all nationalities, creating a fun and inclusive space to explore global cultures through art. Each session introduced young participants to different artistic traditions and techniques—from vibrant Ukrainian paper crafts to imaginative creations inspired by various cultures around the world.
Yuliia and Luda, both experienced educators, led the workshops with warmth, enthusiasm, and a passion for connecting communities through shared creative experiences. The sessions not only sparked artistic talent but also fostered friendship, understanding, and cultural appreciation among the children.
The initiative was a beautiful reminder of the power of art to bring people together, and a valuable contribution to the celebration of diversity during Local Development Week.
A big thank you to Yuliia, Luda, and everyone who took part in making these workshops such a memorable success!
