CCLD, alongside CMETB, recently participated in a transnational training event in Porto as part of the Rural Impact Project—an initiative funded by the Erasmus+ Programme.

The two-day event brought together VET educators from across Europe to pilot a new in-service training programme. Its goal is to equip professionals with the skills needed to deliver social entrepreneurship modules to learners in rural communities.

Participants tested and evaluated the programme, ensuring it is practical and effective before being rolled out more widely. CCLD and CMETB contributed valuable insights to help shape the final version.

This collaboration marks an important step in empowering rural youth and strengthening local economies through social entrepreneurship.

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027.
