On Monday, 13 October, and Tuesday, 14 October, representatives from Cavan Community and Local Development (CCLD) participated in a significant study visit focused on community-based approaches to youth employment. Held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs in Prague, Czechia, the event was organised under the ESF+ Support Centre on behalf of the European Commission.
The study visit provided a valuable platform for sharing best practices and innovative strategies to enhance youth employment opportunities across Europe. CCLD was proud to contribute to this dialogue, showcasing our ongoing commitment to empowering young people through targeted, community-driven initiatives.
Iris O’Callaghan, representing CCLD, delivered a presentation on the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) and the Cultural Champions Programme. Her insights highlighted how these initiatives foster social inclusion and create meaningful opportunities for young people in Cavan. Meanwhile, Laura Caslin, from our WorkAbility programme, shared the impactful support provided to young people in Cavan, detailing how the programme equips them with the skills and resources needed to thrive in the workforce.
CCLD’s participation in this study visit underscores our dedication to collaborating with European partners to address youth unemployment and build stronger, more inclusive communities. We look forward to applying the knowledge and connections gained in Prague to further enhance our programmes and support the young people of Cavan.
