Celebrating the Heart of Our Community: Volunteer Appreciation Evening

There was a real sense of pride and gratitude in the room as we hosted a special Volunteer Appreciation Evening to honour the people who give so much to our community. Their commitment, compassion and generosity are the driving force behind many of the programmes that make a meaningful difference every day.

Our volunteers support a wide range of local activities and play a vital role in the ongoing work of the Ukrainian Cultural Centre. Their time and energy strengthen social inclusion, enhance service delivery and help create welcoming spaces where individuals and families can connect and thrive.

For funding partners and state bodies, this evening highlighted the impact achieved when communities and volunteers work together. For local and national media, it offered a positive story of collective effort and community resilience. For service users, it was a reminder that behind every programme stands a team of dedicated individuals who truly care.

We are deeply grateful for everything our volunteers do. Thank you for being the heart of our community.

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027.
