Did you know that learning simple, affordable cooking skills can make a real difference to your health and wellbeing?
For many years, Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) has supported people across County Cavan through practical food and nutrition programmes that help tackle food poverty, improve health, and build confidence in the kitchen.
As Community Food and Nutrition Worker, Charlotte Wilson delivers a range of free programmes and workshops for community groups throughout the county.
One of the most popular is the HSE's Healthy Food Made Easy programme – a free six-week course that teaches participants how to prepare healthy meals on a budget, understand food labels, plan meals, and develop practical cooking skills. A Community Dietitian also visits the group to provide expert advice and answer questions.
CCLD also delivers:
Nutrition workshops tailored to community groups.
Air Fryer Programme, a four-week course showing how to prepare healthy, nutritious meals using an air fryer.
Food and Mood, a new workshop exploring the connection between food, mental wellbeing and overall health.
These programmes are helping people make healthier choices while bringing communities together through learning and shared experiences.
As CCLD celebrates 30 years of supporting communities across County Cavan, we are proud to continue empowering people with practical skills that improve everyday life.
