Cavan County Local Development (CCLD), through the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), is proud to support greater access to digital learning opportunities in rural areas of West Cavan.

This autumn, 23 participants have begun computer training classes across three local venues in Glangevlin, Bawnboy, and Belturbet. These courses are designed to make essential digital skills more accessible to individuals who might otherwise find it difficult to attend training in larger towns or cities.
The initiative has been made possible through strong local partnerships:
The Skills for Work project of CMETB, who co-fund the programme
St. Mogue’s College, who have kindly provided one of the training venues
Speaking about the programme, CCLD highlighted how vital it is to continue supporting individuals in rural communities to gain the skills they need to stay connected, access services, and increase opportunities for both work and everyday life.
By working together, we are ensuring that communities in West Cavan are not left behind in the digital age.
