What if a story could heal, inspire and challenge stereotypes all at once?

This summer, Traveller Healing Through Stories will bring members of the Traveller community together in Cavan Town for a unique series of creative storytelling workshops designed to promote wellbeing, confidence and inclusion. Led by Travellers and delivered in partnership with the  project team and community partners, the initiative creates a safe and culturally respectful space to explore identity, discrimination, resilience and personal experiences through storytelling.

Taking place at the Bridge Street Centre, Cavan Town, participants will create original stories, develop storyboards and gain experience in podcasting and creative media. The project supports emotional wellbeing while helping participants develop new skills, build confidence and strengthen community connections.

The project demonstrates the value of community-led, culturally informed approaches to wellbeing and social inclusion. It also provides an inspiring story of creativity, resilience and positive social impact. Most importantly, it offers Traveller participants an opportunity to tell their own stories, in their own voices.

With participants' consent, completed work will be showcased through a public exhibition to help build understanding, challenge stigma and celebrate Traveller culture and identity.
