UCD Think Again Scholarship – An Opportunity for Mature Women Returning to Education

Women across County Cavan who are considering a return to education may be interested in the UCD Think Again Scholarship, which is now confirmed to be available for 2026 entry.

The Think Again Scholarship is designed to support women aged 23 or over who are living in low-income households and who wish to pursue undergraduate study at University College Dublin (UCD). The scholarship is open to women studying full-time or part-time, including those enrolled through a University Access Programme.

In 2025, UCD welcomed 52 new Think Again scholars, reflecting the continued demand and positive impact of the programme in supporting women to access third-level education.

What does the scholarship offer?

Depending on the type of study, financial support may include:

  • Up to €7,000 per year for full-time undergraduate students

  • Up to €1,000 for students on the one-year part-time University Access Course

  • Up to €1,000 per year for other part-time undergraduate students

This support can make a significant difference in helping women overcome financial barriers and take the step back into education.

Important timing

With the CAO deadline for Mature Students on 1 February, now is an important time for eligible women to explore their options and plan ahead for 2026.

Supporting access to education is a key part of building stronger, more inclusive communities, and opportunities like Think Again can be truly life-changing.
