🌟 Ballyconnell Social Club – First Meeting a Success! 🌟

We were delighted to host the very first Social Club meeting at Ballyconnell Community Centre this week.

šŸ’¬ The evening began with Chairperson Taragh Donohoe and Community Co-ordinator Laura Brady sharing the results of our recent community survey, current activities on offer and exciting plans for the building.

ree

šŸŽ¤ Sandy Holland from CCLD spoke about other clubs across Cavan and offered fantastic advice on setting up our own.

šŸŽ¤Finian McNamara from Cavan PPN highlighted the importance of community voices, participation, and the great resources available through the PPN.

šŸŽ¤Aideen Tobin, Chairperson of the newly opened Market House, joined us to share details of their upcoming events and how we’ll work together in the future.

šŸ¤ Attendees broke into groups to brainstorm ideas for workshops, talks, and activities. By the end of the session, the group voted to begin with three exciting activities:

ā˜•ļø A Social Coffee Morning

šŸŽ²A Games Night

šŸ“šA Book Club

It was wonderful to see many familiar faces return to the hall after a number of years, as well as new community members eager to get involved. A number of people also stepped forward as future organisers – an integral part of helping the club grow and thrive.

Quote from Lorraine O’Loughran- Youth club Ballyconnell Chairperson:

āœØā€œIt was fantastic to see such energy and enthusiasm in the room. The mix of ideas, new faces, and returning community members shows the huge potential this Social Club has to bring people together in Ballyconnell.ā€
