Cavan Women’s Business Network hosted a vibrant and well-attended Christmas event on Wednesday, 3rd December at the Farnham Estate, bringing together more than 90 women from across the county. The evening offered an inspiring celebration of local female entrepreneurship, featuring stalls from talented women in business showcasing art, handmade jewellery, artisan food, beverages, and more.

Supported by the Local Enterprise Office Cavan, the Network continues to be an important driver of women’s enterprise development in the region. Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) plays a central role in this ecosystem, working closely with aspiring and established female entrepreneurs through our enterprise supports, training programmes, and mentoring pathways.
A number of CCLD enterprise clients—women who have successfully started and grown their own businesses with our support—are active members of the Network. Their presence and participation at the event highlight the ongoing impact of CCLD’s enterprise initiatives and our commitment to empowering women to achieve sustainable self-employment.
CCLD was proudly represented on the night, with Iris O’Callaghan and Elaine Mc Grath attending the event to meet participants, engage with Network members, and support the CCLD-backed businesses showcasing their products. Our involvement reflects CCLD’s continued dedication to fostering collaboration, building confidence, and championing local female-led enterprise in Cavan.
The keynote address delivered by Ruth Larkin of Lark Bridal added further inspiration, offering valuable insights on leadership, growth, and resilience—messages that resonate strongly with the women and businesses we support.
Events like this underscore the strength and ambition of Cavan’s business community. CCLD remains committed to supporting women in enterprise, helping them to develop skills, access opportunities, and contribute to the social and economic vibrancy of our county.
