Cavan communities becoming Climate ready. 'Communities 4 climate action' training opportunity.

Discovering how communities and businesses can reduce their carbon footprint and how to become climate ready is the primary focus of this training programme. This is the second of a series of three free training programmes, which is open to all residents of County Cavan.



The first course was completed earlier this year (2021) with 18 participants. Most of the past course participants spent a day recently visiting 'Cloughjordan Ecovillage' in County Tipperary. For of the participants, the visit to the ecovillage was the highlight of the training programme, with much of the learning they acquired had come to life is this sustainable, living and breathing community. The ecovillage is home to 150 residents living on a 67 acre estate. The ecovillage includes 50 high performance green homes, a community farm & gardens, 20,000 newly planted trees and Irelands largest renewable energy district heating system and a wide range of vibrant green businesses operating from the ecovillage.

This upcoming course is planned to run over six Wednesday evenings in an Covid safe environment, commencing on the 2nd October, 2021 in Cavan town.
