Cavan County Local Development (CCLD), in partnership with the HSE and Sláintecare Healthy Communities, is delighted to announce that Healthy Food Made Easy is coming to Cootehill this April 2026.

This practical and engaging course supports individuals and families to build confidence in preparing nutritious, affordable meals in a relaxed and friendly group setting.

What is Healthy Food Made Easy?

Healthy Food Made Easy is a community-based programme designed to help people:

  • Prepare, cook and taste healthy recipes

  • Learn more about healthy eating

  • Get practical tips on food shopping

  • Plan meals on a budget

  • Enjoy a relaxed, supportive and fun approach to learning

The course typically runs over six sessions (2.5 hours each), with an emphasis on group participation and shared learning rather than formal classroom-style teaching. It is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Why Take Part?

With the rising cost of living, knowing how to shop smart, plan meals and cook nutritious food on a budget is more important than ever. Healthy Food Made Easy empowers participants with practical skills they can use every day — helping to improve health, wellbeing and household budgeting.

Beyond the practical skills, the programme also provides an opportunity to connect with others locally, share experiences and build confidence in the kitchen.
