As Cavan County Local Development (CCLD) celebrates 30 years of supporting communities across County Cavan, we are proud to recognise the people who have helped make that impact possible.

One of those people is Iris O'Callaghan, who has dedicated 25 years to community development through CCLD. Throughout her career, Iris has worked across a wide range of programmes, supporting individuals, families and communities while promoting inclusion, opportunity and lifelong learning.

Over the years, Iris has been involved in equality and women's initiatives, volunteer and peace programmes, supports for older people, community networks and employment-related services. Today, she works closely with new communities and local residents, helping people access services, opportunities and translation supports through CCLD's Culture Champions initiative.

A key part of her role has been helping people build confidence and develop new skills. From training and interview preparation to employer engagement and community employment supports, she has helped many people take positive steps towards their goals.

For Iris, the most rewarding part of her work is seeing people progress. Whether through training, employment or community participation, she has witnessed countless success stories over the years.

As CCLD marks its 30th anniversary, Iris's journey highlights the lasting impact of community-led local development and the importance of supporting people to reach their full potential. We thank Iris for her 25 years of dedication and commitment to communities across County Cavan.

Celebrating 30 years of Cavan County Local Development as we support people, strengthen communities and create opportunities across County Cavan since 1996.
