A busy month, including observances and community initiatives during Local Development Week (May 12–17). Highlights:


  1. #LocalDevelopmentWeek 2025 kickoff message urging community recognition of Local Development Companies (May 12–17)


  2. Multicultural Arts & Crafts Workshops at Johnston Library, featuring Ukrainian-led sessions during the same week


  3. Vyshyvanka Day Celebration for Ukrainian culture, marked on the third Thursday of May


  4. Family Day at Lough Ramor Lake (May 17) — a community gathering for families


  5. Alzheimer’s Tea Day Fundraiser (May 25): An awareness event supporting Alzheimer’s research and community awareness


  6. Climate Action Workshop: CCLD showcased environmental initiatives during Local Development Week through a SICAP climate justice workshop


  7. LDCN Press Release (May 14): The Local Development Companies Network (ILDN) released its 2026 Pre‑Budget submission, “Building Local Resilience in Uncertain Times”

The Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP) is co-funded by the Irish Government, through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, and the European Social Fund Plus under the Employment, Inclusion, Skills and Training (EIST) Programme 2021 -2027.
