A fantastic milestone was reached in Cavan Town on Friday, 25th July, as the ribbon was officially cut on a brand-new community crèche at O’Raghallaigh Park. Cathaoirleach John Paul Feeley, Cavan County Council Chief Executive Eoin Doyle, and Annette Coyle, General Manager of Krafty Kidz, were on hand to mark the joyous occasion, celebrating what has been a deeply collaborative and community-driven initiative.

This important project has been two years in the making and came to life thanks to the collective efforts of Cavan County Local Development (CCLD), Krafty Kidz, Cavan County Council, and the residents of the O’Raghallaigh Park area. It also received invaluable behind-the-scenes support from the Cavan Children and Young People's Services Committee, Cavan County Childcare Committee, and Tusla.
The newly opened building has a dual purpose—serving as a community crèche during the day and transforming into a flexible community space in the evenings and on weekends. This multi-functional approach ensures that the facility will become a true hub for local residents of all ages.
A special word of thanks and recognition goes to Lorraine McTeigue, SICAP Community Development Officer with CCLD, whose dedication and tireless efforts played a crucial role in turning the vision into reality.

CCLD extends its best wishes to Krafty Kidz as they begin operations at the crèche. The organization is confident that this new facility will become a cherished asset to the local community—offering quality childcare, supporting families, and creating new opportunities for connection and development.
This project showcases the power of collaboration and the positive impact that can be achieved when local government, community organizations, and residents work hand in hand.
