Spotlight on Sustainability at the 2025 Castleblayney Agricultural Show

Updated: Aug 28

The 2025 Castleblayney Agricultural Show brought together innovation, community, and sustainability — and among the highlights was a strong showing from local development groups committed to a greener future.

Representing their respective initiatives, Owen McConnon of Retrofit Ready, Cavan County Local Development, and Jeyald Antony of Monaghan Integrated Development were on hand to share insights into energy efficiency, home retrofitting, and sustainable living practices for rural communities.

Their presence underscored the importance of collaboration across counties and sectors as Ireland continues its journey toward meeting environmental goals. Visitors to the show had the opportunity to learn more about available support for home energy upgrades and how local action can contribute to national climate targets.
