Congratulations to the eleven community groups in Cavan that have developed their own local Biodiversity Action Plans (BAPs). Cavan has now raised the total number of local BAPs to sixteen on the National Biodiversity Data Centre website, an accomplishment that everyone involved takes pride in.
Each of these community groups were supported by Cavan 2023-27 LEADER Programme which funded CCLD to deliver a biodiversity habitat enhancement & leadership training in 2025. 54 individuals from 17 difference community groups participated in this training which was delivered in 3 separate venues in Bailieborough, Cavan town and Swanlinbar.

Each of these groups are committed to enhancing, protecting and promoting the importance of our shared natural environment for all the benefit of the native species that live there.
CCLD, supported by the Cavan 2023-27 LEADER Programme, is in the process of developing additional environmental training programmes for the communities in County Cavan for 2026. Stay tuned!

We would like to thank Flynn Furney Environmental Consultants for delivering the training.
